Trance Mutation 9 [from 2004]

I'm doing some serious archive exploration, and I came across one of the earliest mixes I was known for.

Pretty sure this one aired on Digitally Imported / DI.FM Trance Channel, although all forum evidences have vanished in 20 years of cyberspace fluctuations.

I managed to find the playlist too, which is quite interesting as a couple of tracks didn't really get released and were by good friends of mine back then; my friend Torsten Fassbender was part of Wellenrausch and Armored Blowfish was an alias of my friend Giorgio Ponticelli who was running the Subtraxx collective... big up! Also, I didn't know back then that Airwave would become a good real life friend of mine. We lost track of each other a little bit, maybe I should text him.

Anyway, enjoy this blast from the past!

Trance Mutation 12

You know what? I still had this in my archive, and I just realised it was pretty impossible to find!

Nearly 20 years after the fact, I'm fighting some huge cobwebs on this website to bring you Trance Mutation 12, my set from 2006 that had some pretty heavy rotation on Digitally Imported's Trance Channel! 80 minutes of epic uplifting Trance music!

This one goes to the lightweights sleeping in the basement!

PS: don't worry about the file size, it's about 112 MB, i don't know why this website shows 1 MB and i can't be bothered to fix bugs in my code from 20 years ago 🙂

Introducing alternate.dj

How would you like to let go of all your expectations, and hear something fun for a change? What if you could have a peek at the most unexpected sets built by artists you like... in a genre they totally don't normally play?

Wouldn't Tiestö playing Gangsta rap, Hardwell spinning Psy-Trance, David Guetta dropping Liquid Drum&Bass sound for the least interesting? That's what Alternate.DJ is about: genuinely unlikely musical experiences.

As a DJ, I've had more than one occasion to make sets that weren't the pure uplifting trance that I strive for. I've recently played retro house, R'n B and Rock at a company event. I've played techno, minimal, deep trance and other electronic genres to promote compilations on the air of NRJ. I've had a commercial house side-project for years, and I've put together my own drum&bass sets for fun. I'm convinced other DJ's have done so as well, and that's what I want to share!

The concept is simple: DJ's that are known for a certain music style are invited to mix something totally different for just once. It doesn't mean they will switch careers or abandon all they built, it is nothing but a playground for musical experiments! I am truly enthusiastic to discover what our guest DJ's feel like playing just once, and why they picked that genre!

We have great guests coming up with super-interesting sets, so stay tuned!

Trance Mutation Broadcast #114 - Retro guestmix

This month, Jordan Waeles takes over the air of Digitally Imported for a special guestmix where he plays pure classics from 1999 to 2004.

About Trance Mutation Broadcast

Back in 2005, Jordan Waeles started mixing uplifting trance on the air of NRJ Belgium (national FM station), at first filling in for other unavailable residents of Extravadance, then with a monthly slot on his own. Trance Mutation Broadcast was born. Across the years, the show has been syndicated on Saffier/LRK (Dutch local FM stations) and many more online and FM stations.

Eventually, in 2009, Jordan moved Trance Mutation Broadcast to the biggest online trance radio station, Digitally Imported, in a brand-new two-hour format.
